Diary Farm is a very profitable business, you can do this business with little knowledge and can earn lots of money but you will have to do hard work for this. Suppose selling price is Rs.40/- per liter then total income per day for 300 liter will be Rs.12,000/- and in a month will be Rs.3,60,000/- approx. Now you can guess how much you can earn in a month but this figure is inclusive of expenses incurred for feeding and keeping cattle and salary of employee.
You required 10 to 12 Lakh capital and 15-20 Cow or Buffalo for medium based dairy farming. And you can earn approx Rs.1,50,000/- per month. You can increase income by increasing number of cows and buffalo.
If you want to start on small level then you can start with 5 to 6 Cow or Buffalos. But keep in mind to select good breed which can give at least 10 liter milk in a day. Therefore you can earn approx Rs.50,000/- to 70,000/- per month.

Price of cow depends upon the breed, if you buy good quality of cow then it will cost up to Rs.30000/- and for normal at approx Rs.20000/-, it depends upon local market price.
Around the world there are many breeds of cow and buffalo which gives quantity of milk as per their breeds. So need to select good quality of breed to get more milk and to get more profit in business. The buffalo of Jersey Cattle, Holstein cattle breed and Sahiwal breed are right to buy. Jersey cattle have capacity to give 15 to 18 Liter milk in a day.
If you expect more milk from cow or buffalo then you will have to give good and healthy food as per their requirements, since ability to milk any cow or buffalos depends upon foods what they eat. There are two modes to sell in the market, in first mode you can sell your milk to any company directly. There are many companies in our country who purchases milk directly from diary farm. on the other mode you can open your own company and can sell them in market directly. In starting period you will have to do more hard work but after some times of running your company, your profit will increase. you can also earn more money by selling other milk made products as Curd, Cheese, Butter etc.
If you want to open your own company for selling milk and other milk made products in market, then you will have to choose a name for company and to contact office of local authority to get registration. And you will also have to invest some amount for Trade License and Vat Registration.
If you want to sell through your company the you need to make Label, packing pouch and boxes etc. On packing box and packets, company details and date of packing are mentioned. To purchase packing materials you may contact vendor who manufacture these types of items.
you need to promote your company in the market so that people will be aware about your company and your sell will increase. You can advertise in local newspaper also to promote your business.

Give healthy and good quality of foods to cattle, if you feed bad quality of food to cattle they will be sick soon so keep precaution. And do check up regularly from animal doctor since cattle needs many vaccines to avoid disease.
If you are getting any financial problem to start this business then you can take loan from bank. Government also gives many subsidy to promote this business. So you should get knowledge about Bank loan, their rate of interest and government subsidy etc.
